Brabant Innovation Days platform
Why did the Province of Brabant initiate the BID platform?
The Province of Brabant initiated the platform to spotlight specialised technologies emerging from Brabant’s ecosystems. By taking the lead, the province ensures continuity and provides a trusted platform for long-term collaboration between researchers, companies, and international partners.
What impact has BID had in the tech and innovation sector?
BID has played a key role in helping to shape high-quality international partnerships, such as those between Brabant’s leading knowledge institutions – TU/e, TNO Holst Centre, and PhotonDelta – and partners in Japan. By focusing on quality collaborations, BID ensures the connections it facilitates are both meaningful and impactful. These partnerships contribute directly to advancing global innovation and strengthening Brabant’s position in the international tech landscape.
How does BID fit in with the Brabant Development Agency and Brabant Business Region?
BID complements the missions of both the Brabant Development Agency (BOM) and Brabant Business Region. While BOM supports local start-ups in achieving international growth, and Brabant Business Region promotes the region’s innovation potential globally, BID acts as a dynamic ‘one-stop shop’ that brings these efforts together. It creates a platform to showcase Brabant’s strengths to global tech hubs, while actively building connections with regional ecosystems and international innovators.
What is the unique collaboration model that supports BID?
BID is built on a unique collaboration model – the so-called ‘triple helix’ – that combines information sharing, strategic matchmaking, and long-term relationship building. Each event showcases Brabant’s innovations while creating space for meaningful connections and knowledge sharing between regional stakeholders and international partners. The model is reinforced through close cooperation with the Brabant Development Agency (BOM), which helps translate new relationships into concrete opportunities for growth and collaboration.
