Sustainable next-generation manufacturing technologies in electronics and photonics
This event highlighted innovations across semiconductors, energy, automotive, healthcare and consumer electronics. A key speaker, TNO Holst Centre from Eindhoven, presented its work on sustainable electronics and the challenges ahead. They also introduced cutting-edge photonics technology, including laser-assisted microLED integration. Other topics included enhanced solar panel efficiency and their integration into buildings and trucks. The summit also covered advanced chip packaging – from RF to power electronics – emphasising its relevance to Japan’s automotive and 5G sectors. Mass production of printed electronics using roll-to-roll technologies was showcased, with applications in automotive, health and display industries. Finally, impulse printing and vehicle-integrated solar panels were presented as solutions for independent charging infrastructure.
