On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, we’ll host a half-day conference on healthcare innovations at the Netherlands Pavilion of the World Expo in Osaka.
Join us for an inspiring exchange of knowledge and ideas on Future Health Innovation and Digitalisation in Society 5.0. This event brings together Brabant’s brightest minds in healthcare, technology, and education with leading Japanese partners – to connect, collaborate and co-create solutions for a sustainable and accessible healthcare future.
The southern Dutch province of Brabant plays a pivotal role as a European innovation hub, helping to shape cross-sector partnerships and drive forward-thinking initiatives that bridge regional strengths with global opportunities.
Both the Netherlands and Japan face mounting healthcare challenges: ageing populations, rising costs, and growing pressure on healthcare personnel. These shared pressures are driving demand for smarter, more sustainable care models. With Japan leading in robotics and precision medicine, and the Netherlands excelling in prevention, digital care, and patient-centred innovation, the two countries are natural partners in shaping the future of health.
Organised by the Province of Brabant, the cities of Breda and Tilburg, and led by King’s Commissioner Ina Adema, this event is part of a broader innovation mission to Japan focused on building lasting partnerships in health and tech.

When and where will the Spotlight event take place?
The Brabant Innovation Spotlight – a Brabant Innovation Days spinoff event – will take place at the Netherlands Pavilion of the World Expo in Osaka on 7 October, 2025. Organised by the Province of Brabant, the cities of Breda and Tilburg, and led by King’s Commissioner Ina Adema, this event is part of a broader innovation mission to Japan focused on building lasting partnerships in health and tech.
What is the theme of the Spotlight event?
The Brabant Innovation Spotlight will focus on healthcare innovation. Under the theme ‘Future Health Innovation and Digitalisation in Society 5.0’, the event will bring together Brabant’s brightest minds in healthcare, technology, and education, alongside leading Japanese partners. The goal: to connect, collaborate and co-create solutions for a sustainable and accessible healthcare future.
For the next full Brabant Innovation Day event in 2026, we will collaborate with our Brabant partners to select topics that reflect Brabant’s strengths, such as semiconductors, photonics, automotive, healthcare, or AI.
